How we use cookies and similar technologies on our website.
Choccy AI (Pty) Ltd, trading as Weeva AI, registration number 2025/148892/07
About this cookie policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, how Choccy AI (Pty) Ltd (trading as Weeva AI) ("Weeva", "we", "us", or "our") uses them on the website located at https://weeva.ai (the "Website"), and the choices available to you regarding their use.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information, and our Terms of Use. Your consent to our use of cookies, where required, applies to the Website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
- First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting.
- Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting, typically by external service providers that we engage (for example, analytics providers).
- Session cookies are temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them manually.
In addition to cookies, we may use other similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, and software development kits ("SDKs"). For ease of reference, this Cookie Policy uses the term "cookies" to refer to cookies and all such similar technologies.
Why do we use cookies?
We use cookies for several reasons, including:
- to enable the Website to function properly and securely (for example, to protect the demo booking calendar on the Website against automated abuse);
- to understand how visitors interact with the Website so that we can measure, maintain, and improve its performance; and
- to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including obligations to record your cookie preferences.
We do not store sensitive personal information, such as mailing addresses or account passwords, in the cookies we use.
Categories of cookies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to navigate the Website and use its features, such as booking a demo. Without these cookies, services you have asked for (such as booking a time in our demo calendar) cannot be provided. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent.
4.2 Functionality cookies
We do not currently use functionality cookies on the Website. If we introduce them, we will list them in section 5 and, where required, ask for your consent.
4.3 Analytics / performance cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Website, such as which pages are visited most often, the approximate location from which the Website is accessed, and if users experience error messages. These cookies help us to improve how the Website works. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and is used only to improve how the Website functions.
4.4 Marketing / targeting cookies
We do not currently use marketing or targeting cookies on the Website. We will only use marketing cookies with your consent.
4.5 Third-party cookies
In addition to the first-party cookies set by Weeva, some cookies are set by third parties whose services we use. These include:
- website analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which help us understand how the Website is used; and
- our booking provider, Cal.com, which sets strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies when the demo calendar on our Book a demo page loads, to protect the calendar and complete your booking. The calendar cannot work without them, so they do not require your consent and are not affected by your choice in the cookie banner.
These third parties process information in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies. We recommend you review the policies of those third parties before accepting their cookies.

Your choices and how to manage cookies
When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner will, where required, request your consent to the use of non-essential cookies. You can accept all cookies or reject all non-essential cookies.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2 in combination with edge geolocation provided by our content delivery network (Cloudflare) to apply the consent default that matches the jurisdiction you appear to be browsing from:
- If you appear to be browsing from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the Google Analytics tag is loaded but every consent signal (analytics, advertising, personalisation, and functionality storage) is set to denied by default. The cookie banner is shown so that you can opt in. While in denied mode, no Google Analytics cookies are written to your device and no client identifier is sent; Google may still receive anonymous, cookieless pings that record only that a page was loaded, which Google uses for aggregate, statistical traffic modelling. The same denied-by-default behaviour applies whenever your country cannot be determined (for example, where the IP address is reported as unknown or as a Tor exit node).
- If you appear to be browsing from any other jurisdiction (including South Africa, the United States, Canada, Australia, and most of Asia, Africa, and Latin America), the Google Analytics tag is loaded with consent signals set to granted by default and the cookie banner is not shown automatically. We rely for this on our legitimate interest under section 11(1)(f) of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), and on equivalent lawful bases in other applicable jurisdictions, having balanced our interest in understanding Website usage against your right to privacy. You retain the right to opt out at any time by clicking the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer (described below), in which case the consent signals are updated to denied and remembered for subsequent visits.
Geolocation by IP address is approximate and is provided by Cloudflare on a best-effort basis. If you are using a virtual private network (VPN), an enterprise proxy, or a connection that geolocates incorrectly, the default applied to your visit may not match the law of your physical location. In all cases, an explicit choice you make in the cookie banner overrides any auto-applied default and is remembered for subsequent visits.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key weeva_cookie_consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of the Website, which re-opens the cookie banner so you can make a new choice regardless of your apparent location.
The cookie banner controls Google Analytics only. The Cal.com cookies and storage listed in section 5 are strictly necessary for the booking calendar. They are set only on the Book a demo page when the calendar loads, and your choice in the banner does not affect them. If you block them in your browser, the calendar may not load; you can still reach us at [email protected].
In addition, most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- see what cookies are stored on your device and delete them individually or all at once;
- block third-party cookies;
- block cookies from particular sites; or
- block all cookies from being set.
Please note that if you disable strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website may not function properly. For more information about managing cookies, you can visit:
- https://www.aboutcookies.org;
- https://www.allaboutcookies.org; and
- the help or support section of your particular browser.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers and devices allow you to send a "Do Not Track" signal to websites you visit. There is no common industry understanding of how such signals should be interpreted. Currently, we do not alter our practices in response to Do Not Track signals. If a final standard is adopted, we will review and adjust our practices as appropriate.
Changes to this cookie policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes to applicable law, or changes in best practice. When we do, we will update the "Updated" date at the top of this Cookie Policy. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about how we use cookies.
