GLOSSARY
Two-way match
What is two-way match?
A two-way match compares a purchase order with the delivery that arrived against it, line by line, before the goods are accepted into stock. It checks that the right products came, in the right quantities, units and pack sizes, and it is the receiving step itself.
The result is recorded on the GRV (goods received voucher, or GRN elsewhere). Once the supplier invoice arrives and is compared with both documents, the two-way match becomes a three-way match.
Why it matters
Discrepancies are cheapest to settle at the bay, while the goods and the driver are still there. A short delivery, substitution or damaged line missed in the two-way match surfaces later as an invoice query, when it is harder to prove.
How Weeva handles it
Goods Receiving Automation runs the two-way match on a phone or tablet. It reads the delivery note, finds the purchase order, converts pack sizes to units, applies your tolerances and names each discrepancy for the receiver to confirm.
